Koon Lau is the Owner, Founder, and Head Instructor at Team Octopus. He has been training martial arts for over 30 years, practicing Karate, Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Mixed Martial Arts. With decades of experience, he has built a long and respected teaching career.
His mission is to continue learning and sharing martial arts with others, helping students build self-confidence, improve their health, and stay in great physical condition.

Adam Reese Crossfit Instructor
Originally from Duluth, GA, Adam began learning the basics of lifting and gymnastics as young as eight years old from his father, Kenny Reese, a long-time high school football and wrestling coach with over 40 years of experience.
After a long baseball career, Adam discovered Powerlifting in 2007 and Olympic Weightlifting in 2008. He began his coaching journey the same year under the mentoring of Caleb Williams—IPF World Champion, USAW National Champion, and World Team Member.
As a teen powerlifter, Adam earned four USAPL Georgia State Records and qualified for the 2008 USAPL Teen Nationals. As a weightlifter, he has competed in two different weight classes and qualified for three national-level events.
Since expanding into CrossFit in 2011, Adam has coached at more than ten CrossFit and functional fitness gyms, serving in multiple head coaching and programming roles. He has held certifications in:
- CrossFit Level 2
- CrossFit Kids
- USAW Level 1 Sports Performance Coach
- The MORR Method (Movement, Overspeed, Resistance, Reaction)
Adam prides himself on bringing exceptional knowledge, energy, and positivity into every class he leads.
Kenny Davies Muay Thai Coach & Instructor
Kenny embarked on his martial arts journey in 2008, beginning with Tae Kwon Do before transitioning to Muay Thai in 2011. Over the course of a competitive career that includes 24 fights, Kenny earned two prestigious amateur titles.
His pursuit of mastery took him to Thailand, where he joined training camps, immersed himself in the culture, and sharpened his skills in the birthplace of Muay Thai.
With over 15 years of experience as a seasoned instructor and coach, Kenny is passionate about imparting the wisdom he has gained from his extensive study of Muay Thai. His mission is to help develop and inspire the next generation of martial artists.
Richard Gillings Kickboxing & Striking Coach
My name is Richard Gillings, and I have been immersed in martial arts for 18 years, dedicating the past 7 years specifically to coaching.
Specializing in striking and MMA techniques, I bring a wealth of experience to every class I teach. Alongside my coaching background, I have earned multiple medals and trophies in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), underscoring my passion, discipline, and commitment to continuous improvement.
My goal is to help students develop clean, effective striking technique and to build confidence—both on and off the mats.
Omri Lowther Boxing Coach
My name is Omri Lowther, and I’ve been proudly associated with Team Octopus since 2023. With over 30 years of boxing experience, I have achieved major milestones throughout my career, including becoming a two-time national boxing champion and earning the title of WBA Fedecaribe Champion.
I have also been recognized as a top-10 world-rated boxer and was honored with induction into the Georgia Boxing Hall of Fame—achievements that reflect my dedication, discipline, and passion for the sport.
I am committed to passing on my knowledge and experience to students, helping them refine their skills and grow both as athletes and individuals.
